Masks!

This semester I am in a mask making class. I'm having so much fun that I taught a friend how to make masks! But before you can make a mask you have to make a mold:
Start with a clean face and protective coverings for clothes/floor/hair/etc. Make sure you put vasaline on all hair that will touch the plaster strips.
Cover the face in plaster. Once that hardens, take off of face and fill with plaster. Let it dry. Then you can form your mask to custom fit your own face!

Here is the first mask that I finished! (It is a half mask if you can't tell.)
I bought the base for these masks. I think they turned out great! They look better in person.

Cool! I like the colors you used. I don't know that I could have plaster on my face. Too freaky.

It's only for 10 minutes tops. And we leave the nose open so you can breathe! It sure feels weird though!

I'm totally coming to you next time I'm invited to a masquerade ball . . . you know, because it happens so often. :) Well done!
